Food Access Resources

The recent halt in SNAP funding has created uncertainty and hardship for many in our community. While a judge has ordered funding to be reinstated, it’s still unclear when that will take effect or if recipients will receive their full benefits.

At Lexington Co-op, our vision is a strong and equitable local food system — one where everyone has access to fresh, healthy, and locally produced food. In the middle of so much uncertainty, we’re moved by how our community keeps showing up for one another. Buffalo’s heart is real, and it’s powerful.

We’re showing up by supporting FeedMore WNY who are on the front lines ensuring our neighbors have what they need.

Here’s how you can help:

- Donate shelf-stable food in our in-store FeedMore WNY bins.

- Visit our Hertel store’s new Pantry Library — a take-or-leave community shelf where anyone can give or receive food freely.

- Share resources and direct those in need to organizations providing support.

If you or someone you know needs food assistance, please contact FeedMore WNY at (716) 822-2002 or visit feedmorewny.org

Our partners at Massachusetts Avenue Project are also compiling and sharing local food access resources. Follow them and explore their full list at bit.ly/buffalofood

The Double Up Food Bucks New York program remains fully operational:

Customers can earn Double Up Food Bucks when buying produce with EBT (if funds are available).

Customers can continue redeeming any Double Up Food Bucks they’ve already earned or saved.

We know this situation is evolving, and we’re continuing to explore how the Co-op can best support our community and our staff during this time. If you have ideas, resources, or feedback on how we can do more, we welcome your input.
