Canning Classes

We are excited to announce our annual Canning Classes as the first part of our new CO-MMUNITY initiative! For over a decade people have been turning to the co-op to learn the skill of preserving the local harvest. Learn more about CO-MMUNITY here!
New for 2021! The co-op is offering canning classes to in-person and virtual audiences this season!
In-person
Join us in the Hertel Co-op cafe for a hands-on course in preserving the local harvest with master canning teacher, Kathy Manley. Together the class will work on the recipe and each student leaves with a jar of preserves! All supplies included. Tickets are $15 owners/ $20 non-owners. Limit 10 students.
This class will be live-streamed to a paid virtual audience.
Questions on how you’ll be interacting in class or about the co-op’s mask policy? Reach out to shelby.little@lex.coop
Virtual
Watch along as we prepare a recipe and get all your questions answered! We’ll send you the recipe and instructions sheet before class, and a class recording to reference later. Tickets are $5 owners/ $10 non-owners. Limit 35 students.
