Fall’s Favorite Fruit: Apples!

It’s apple season! For the next few months, we’ll be happily stacking newly ripe varieties of apples just about weekly. We work with small, local orchards to carry over 40 varieties throughout the harvest season. Use our handy apple guide to navigate your favorites and recall which variety is perfect in pies, best for snacking, or 100% belongs on that cheese plate!

Meet Our Growers!

Cornerstone Orchards | Youngstown, NY

Bryan and Caitlin LoVullo grow more than 35 varieties of apples, as well as stonefruit. The farm practices Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an environmentally sensitive approach to pest management. After the harvest season, they store apples in a special CO2 chamber to slow the ripening process giving us crunchy local apples all year long!

Roberts Farm Market | Medina, NY

We wait all year to taste the first pressings of apple cider from Roberts Farm Market in Medina, NY. The Roberts ferociously press and strain raw apples grown on their 170-acre orchard to a perfect cider-y consistency. No preservatives here, only fresh apple flavor – enjoy it while it lasts!

Happy apple eating!
