For a few years now, we’ve been talking about our BIG Direction – our plan to create more good in the world on your behalf with a thriving co-op in every community that wants one. We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a lease with contingencies to open our second store in the old CVS building at 1678 Hertel Avenue.
We’re so excited to be bringing a store to Hertel Avenue. Co-op owners living in North Buffalo have been asking for a store of their own for years. We love this neighborhood for many reasons, but mostly because it already has so many Co-op owners in it and because we’ll create a neighborhood grocery on a busy retail strip – just like on Elmwood!
Our second store will be a larger version of our Elmwood location, with more of all the great produce, deli and bulk that you’ve come to love. This location will also allow us to add a few services that you’ve asked for, including indoor seating, more parking for bikes and cars, and possibly even some full service deli. It’s going to be great and we can’t wait.
Thank you to all of the owners who have provided feedback and advice over the years – helping us to create our BIG Direction and helping us to make this BIG decision.
There’s a lot of work left to do, including raising the money and designing and building our store. We’ll keep you posted for ways you can help make this new store a reality!
